Karan Johar, who is producing the film, tweeted the first look with a caption: “With unabashed courage & bravery, she made her domain in a man’s world. Gunjan Saxena – #TheKargilGirl, releasing on 13th March, 2020.” Saxena was one of the 25 women who were part of the first batch of women IAF trainee pilots. During the 1999 Kargil war, Saxena and her colleague flight lieutenant Srividya Rajan were part of Operation Vijay in which they were expected to fly Cheetah helicopters to evacuate injured soldiers.
